Apron 020
Zapaska – a decorated apron, part of a lady's formal dress, a cultural aspect of the Lasovian Kolbusz-Raniżów subregion. Hand-sewn using bleached homespun linen fabric. Gathered at the waist with an embroidered trim extending out as fastening straps. The bottom is decorated with a 17 cm wide embroidered band. The main theme of the motif entails a wavy, multi-leaf branch - the branch is embroidered using a white thread and the leaves are made using broderie anglaise. Three leaves are flat-embroidered in each branch curve. Above and below the branch and parallel to it there is an analogous motif: a row of eyelets arranged into a line parallel to the apron edge and a repeat arrangement of these eyelets.
