Apron 006
Apron 006
The apron is made of bleached linen; decorated with 6 folds and a full-width embroidery on its lower part. A monochromatic brown embroidery with a decorative and practical function was used to strengthen the lower edge of the apron. It also appeared in black. The pattern on the apron consists of rhythmically repeating elements. The main part of the pattern is a wavy line resembling a herringbone twig, passing into trefoils or four-leaves. The pattern is complemented by flowers, which are sewn alternately with the wavy line: at the bottom and at the top. There are dots in the pattern: larger, single in the upper part, between the flowers and leaves, and smaller, three or four in the lower part, near the leaves. The bottom of the embroidery pattern is closed with a wavy line taking the shape of a flounce, passing into a leaf or a trefoil in upper part. The pattern was obtained by means of a string and knitted stitch.
