It resembles a highly stylized flower with evenly spaced petals, inscribed in a circle. It has six petals connected at their ends with notches resembling a hexagon.
The rosette is sometimes associated with relics of pagan beliefs, considered a solar sign with the power to deter evil forces. It is sometimes referred to as the representation of the "flower of life."
