Headcloth 005

Headcloth 005

The pattern is embroidered with the following stitches: a roller, satin and Silesian crosses. It consists of four flower sprouts growing out of one clearly marked, dot-filled "bulb". The top of the flower arrangement is decorated with a hem. Symmetrically, on the sides of the "bulb" there are sprouts with flowers spreading out. They are completed with circles. The flowers are embroidered over three lines arranged alternately: the first and third lines resembling steps, and the middle one made with Zakopane crosses.

According to Franciszek Kotula, the folk costume, uniform for the entire ethnographic group of Rzeszowiacy, underwent changes in the 1960s related to the increase in the wealth of the population of some localities. Thus, the garments from Rzeszów, Łańcut and Przeworsk can be distinguished. No wonder then that the headcloths of all Rzeszów inhabitants were decorated with geometric embroidery with strict and archaic features.
