An example of a batik egg painted Easter Egg. Dark turquoise background, burnt brick decorative pattern.
Each egg end features a rosette with a double zig-zag shaped edge and rays radiating from a flower outline at the egg pole inside the rosette. A zig-zag pattern runs along the egg’s minor axis, with a motif of sixteen irregular star shapes one at each outer tip of the zig-zag pattern.
The Easter Egg was made for a Rzeszów region folk and artisan crafts competition held by the Rzeszów Voivodeship National Council Presidium’s Culture Department in 1960.
