Corset 001
Corset 001
Corset (made of light woolen fabric, lined with cloth) decorated with paints of transparent and vibrant colors. Flowers are the main decorative motif. At the front of the waist there is one large peony (white-pink-burgundy) and a forget-me-not sprout (directed upwards) placed symmetrically. Each fold of the peplum is decorated in stripes, from top to bottom. Blue asters or chrysanthemums, pink roses, morning glories, marigolds, and cherries can be seen. The whole is complemented by dark green leaves of various shapes and sizes.
The corsets worn in Grodzisk were devoid of trays, they consisted of two parts: a short bra and a flounce reaching to the hip line, arranged in box pleat. They were sewn from black velvet (embroidered with beads) or from light woolen fabrics (embroidered with silk threads of pastel colors). Regardless of the fabrics and decoration methods used, the ornamentation was similar.
