Jug 004

Jug 004

A ferrous clay pot, shaped on a potter’s wheel, fired in an oxidizing environment, fully glazed with an egg-shaped body and a narrow neck, a clearly defined base and a single handle. On the opposite side of the handle, the lip edge forms a spout for pouring liquids. The neck bulges out below the lip into a flange.

Below the lip, the pot features a repeated, moon-crescent shape motif made out of flowing light coating lines.

There is an ornamental motif on the widest part of the body. Its primary feature comprises two wavy intersecting lines made in a light coating, highlighted by a green contour line, which forms a chain-like shape. Each chain “link” made out of the intersecting lines features three diagonal, parallel lines in a light coating. Parallel to the chain-like motif, above it and below it, there are light round spots.
