Apron 008
Apron 008
White linen apron, sewn from three pieces of material. The drawstring for tying is slipped into a tunnel formed by a rim along the top of the apron. The apron is cut in six deep arches, finished with knitted serrations. Each arch of the apron is filled with a hand-embroidered, white, openwork motif. The stitching, called low sewing, covers the surface of the apron to half its height.
The motif of a symmetrical bouquet composed of flowers, leaves and fruit, filling a wide, cut arch lies on the edge of the apron. The main element of the bouquet are two large, almond-shaped leaves with a sharp tip pointing downwards, made of round openwork elements, above them two flowers in clusters (lupine), above (in the upper part of the pattern) a bouquet of flowers (marigolds) and wild strawberries. The lower part of the pattern is limited by the edge of the apron, finished with knitted serrations.
