Apron 003

Apron 003

The apron is part of a women's clothing set, put on the skirt and tied at the back of the waist. There are two strips of white linen, sewn in the middle, crinkled at the top and sewn into a seam passing into drawstrings for tying.

The pattern at the bottom of the apron is red and navy, color motifs arranged rhythmically. It has the form of three stripes of a pattern separated by pintucks in a horizontal arrangement with stylized plant motifs. The bottom edge of the apron is cut into rounded serrations, contoured by red knitting with a comb motif. There are floral motifs with teardrop petals arranged in the shape of a rosette. Between them, highly stylized flowers made of concentric circles and dots. Above them there is a row of double oblique, parting twigs with leaves, above them rosettes with full teardrop petals and concentric circles. The second stripe of the embroidery is a wavy line in the form of a herringbone with half-flowers embroidered on top of the waves, in the arches there are full flowers on the stems, alternating with stylized bunches of grapes and dandelions. The highest row of embroidery is a finely wavy twig with drop-shaped leaves placed on both sides, alternating with the motif of three dots.

The pattern, embroidery and colors are characteristic of the towns located near Rzeszów.
