Trimming 001
Trimming 001
The trimming was an application sewn onto cloth trousers (trousers made of dark blue cloth, known as "gray", characteristic of the men's garment from Rzeszów). It was a trapezoidal red cloth strip, sewn on the outside of the trousers, at the thigh level. The use of contrasting colors (blue trousers and red trimming) created a compelling effect.
The trimming is decorated with floral and geometric embroidery made of cream, yellow and blue silk threads, with a Zakopane cross stitch and a chain. The basic element of the ornamentation are two symmetrical, stylized trees, arranged with delicate volutes, finished with plumes, made in a chain. Each "tree" is surrounded by Zakopane stitches and a chain embroidered alternately. The whole pattern is surrounded by a chain resembling a dome, with a plume at the top.
